The group looking to halt the spread of methamphetamine use in Lake Havasu City is making a push to get the public more information and more involved.
“And we’ll be advertising in HAT (Havasu Area Transit),” said CLEAN governing board president Larry Chase. “Inside, the buses will be carrying educational information, the same information that’s in our brochures on our web site.”
CLEAN was formed in August 2006 by Chase as a non-profit group to help facilitate the efforts of other organizations in the community as they fight the spread of methamphetamine and those that seek help in getting clean of the habit.
“We have a beautiful lake and a resort-feel to the community. But we have a soft attitude on substance use and a permissive attitude,” said CLEAN board member Dan Keil.
An assessment of the drug’s impact on the community, completed last fall, found meth has a staggering impact on daily life.
