Look for a quick meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors today, as just 27 items are listed for action.
The board is being asked to approve a pair of agreements with the Arizona Department of Housing that will assist residents in need.
First is an agreement that would provide the county with almost $200,000 in grant funding. That money would be used to shore up the Eviction Prevention/Emergency Homeless Housing Assistance program.
The other agreement would net the county an additional $88,930 for the Housing Persons with AIDS program.
Funding for both programs would be effective in Fiscal Year 2008-09, starting July 1.
The board is also being asked to approve a minor amendment to the county’s general plan and a rezoning that would allow an RV resort in south Mohave Valley, near the Ft. Mojave Indian Reservation. And the county is looking to extend its agreement with the state Department of Economic Security to share office space for a one-stop shop for economic development.
The board meeting, in Kingman, starts at 9:30 a.m. today.
