Business park planned for Golden Valley
More commercial development is on tap for Mohave County, this time in Golden valley near a proposed 25,000 home subdivision.
A.J. Dudheker with Weststar Funding Corp. said the Aztec Business Park will be located between State Route 68 and Shinarump Road, about 2.5 miles north of the Pravada master planned community. “I have a lot of business in Vegas and some friends suggested that there was big development coming (in the Mohave County area),” Dudheker said. “I had been looking for some commercial projects. We saw the land and it’s really a good crossing. Our goal is to do something positive for the area.” According to published reports, Dudheker is proposing a mixed-use 380,000 square-foot commercial project, including industrial and warehousing, retail applications like gas stations, restaurants and convenience stores and office space. The project is proposed for 37 acres. Dudheker’s application to rezone the land will come before the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission during the Aug. 13 meeting. Pravada, by Rhodes Homes of Las Vegas, recently won approval from the Board of Supervisors for a minor amendment to the county’s general plan, minor amendment to the Golden Valley Area Plan and the specific zoning plan which sets forth a development agreement between the county and the developer. Pravada is a master planned community of 25,000 homes on 5,000 acres. The plan also calls for a golf course, community and recreation centers, parks and other open space plus retail development. Rhodes’ officials have previously stated that with approvals, the project could take as much as 30- to 50-years to fully develop. You may contact the reporter at dbell@havasunews.com. Article Rating
