Campbell regatta goes Western

The letters on the side of one boat read, “Hi-Ho Silver, Away!!!”, while a sign on another declared, “Let’s play Campbells and Indians.” So the owners of about 30 Campbell boats sailed through the Bridgewater Channel on Saturday for the 36th annual Campbell Boat Regatta.
This year’s theme was “Western Daze,” with some owners not only decorating their vessels, but dressing the part. A few sported Native American-style headdresses or clothing, others donned cowboy hats, sombreros or other western wear. The Lone Ranger and his sidekick Tonto even made an appearance.
Whether, they decorated their boats or not, the owners, and their passengers, appeared to have a good time plying the waters on a warm summer day in Lake Havasu City.
