Friends remember Whelan

Sunday, September 28, 2008 8:07 PM MST

Nearly 500 friends and family members turned up Sunday at Campbell Boats’ “Burgers, Boats and Beer” to pay tribute to former Lake Havasu City Mayor Bob Whelan. Whelan died Sept. 22. No service was held. Instead the family invited mourners to Campbell Boats, which Whelan owned, to remember one of the city’s finest public servants and men.
