Lake Havasu City and Desert Hills fire crews responded to a series of brush fires in the 1500 block of London Bridge Road shortly after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Three separate fires occurred within an area of about 1/2 acre. The first and largest blaze, shown, was about 10 by 50 feet in size, said Battalion Chief James Whitt, of the Lake Havasu City Fire Department. The cause of the fires is unknown, but the original fire could have been started by a cigarette thrown from a passing vehicle and at least one of the others could have resulted from blowing embers, Whitt said. No evidence of arson or an arsonist was found, he said.
