A football team’s success is more than wins and losses, it’s also giving athletes a chance to keep playing and get a good education. And the Lake Havasu High School program confirmed its success with two more starters signing on for college teams.

Offensive tackle Marc Piacitelli has signed to play ball for Div. III Earlham College in Richmond, Ind. and wide out/free safety Donald Mull has signed to play for Div. III University of La Verne, Calif.

“Me and the head coach started communicating and I was researching the school. From all the schools I talked to this is the one I liked best,” said Piacitelli. “I can’t wait to play next year.”

Piacitelli will stay on the offensive line but said the Quakers coaching staff hasn’t decided if he’ll stay at tackle or move to guard. In the classroom he’ll be pursuing a degree in engineering.

Mull, a three-year letterman for the Fighting Knights, said he plans on studying chemistry when he’s not on the gridiron.

“I definitely wanted to go school in California. I’m excited,” Mull said. When I talked with the coach, I said I didn’t care what side of the ball I play on. And he said I can try both.”

Both players said they were not instructed if they will red shirt their freshmen year.

The signings bring to four the number of Knights playing college football next year. Cody Smith previously signed a letter of intent to play football for Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. And Brent Michaels has signed to play for the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
