John Hulina, 70, passed away suddenly last Saturday at his home.

John was born in Harrisburg, Pa., to John and Anna Hulina. He grew up in Blaunux, Pa., then completed high school in Huntington Park, Calif. His first job after high school was at a packaging plant. After suffering many cuts on his arms having to catch cardboard boxes he concluded, "This is not for me.” As a result, John enrolled at Sawyer Business School to study computers.

After business school, he was hired by Statistical Tabulating Corp., located in downtown Los Angeles. It was there he met Sharon and after only 5 months, they were married.

Many felt the quick union wouldn't last, but 45 years of a blessed marriage silenced all critics.

John's career then led him to 16 very successful years at ADP, where he became the Western Division president. His accomplishments include growing his division from less than $1M in annual revenue in two locations to more than $130M annually across nine locations. While at ADP, John was awarded Outstanding Division of the Year, three years running. As CEO of ProBusiness Services, John grew this startup into a leading-edge payroll company that went public on NASDAQ in 1997.

John and Sharon chose to retire in their children's favorite vacation spot, Lake Havasu City. John spent his retirement boating with his children and grandchildren and enjoying the many wonderful friendships he built at the London Bridge Golf Course and the Eagles Club.

John is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon; brother, Mike Hulina (Gloria); sister, Barb Lagow; children, John Hulina III (Donna) and Vikki Galindo (Mike); grandchildren, Ranesa, Raelynn, Renee, Rachel, Jake and Luke; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel Saturday at 4 p.m. The family will be hosting a reception immediately following the service.

John was a loving and big-hearted person whose generosity touched many. He will be missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in remembrance of John to the charity of choice or the Alzheimer's/Dementia Connection of Havasu, P.O. Box 1410, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.
