Evelyn Burns Davies

Evelyn Burns Davies, a very special lady, age 93, went to be with the Lord Saturday. She was born Sept. 4, 1915, in Albany, N.Y., to Donald and Helen (Davis) Fry.



She met her husband, Charles Davies in Albany, and was married in 1936. To this union five children (three boys and two girls) were born. Charles preceded her in death in 1982.

Evelyn and Charles moved from Albany, N.Y., to West Covina, Calif., in 1954. She worked for AT&T Telephone Co., in the directory department. Later she taught piano and organ lessons for many years.

Evelyn accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was re-baptized on Sept. 24,1995, and was a faithful member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Lake Havasu City.

Evelyn is survived by two sons, Gene Davies and Don (Marilyn) Davies, of Southern California; two daughters, Edna (Charles) Owen and Sharon Davies, of Lake Havasu City; 11 grandchildren; niece, Donna Steinwehr, of Monrovia, Calif.; nephew Ed (Christi) Fry, of West Covina, Calif.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Her son, Fred Davies and brothers, Chester and Edward Fry, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel, 21 Riviera Blvd., Lake Havasu City, today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A memorial service will be at First Southern Baptist Church, 113 N. Acoma Blvd., Lake Havasu City, Thursday at 11 a.m. Pastor Robert Greene will be officiating.

Memorial contributions can be made in Evelyn’s name to your favorite charity.
