Dick Bredeweg, 79, passed away peacefully Thursday in Lake Havasu City. He was born Sept. 29, 1929, in Inglewood, Calif.



Dick and his wife Barbara moved to Lake Havasu City 19 years ago from Carlsbad, Calif. Barbara preceded Dick in passing this past March. He is survived by his three sons, Steve Bredeweg, of Lake Havasu City, Robert Bredeweg, of Oceanside, Calif., Richard Bredeweg, of Carlsbad, Calif.; daughter-in-law Gail Bredeweg, of Lake Havasu City; grandsons, Michael, Bradley, Matthew, Eric and Tyler; and three great-grandchildren, Desiray, Andrea and Andrew, of Lake Elsinore, Calif.

Dick was very involved with the Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the Kiwanis Golden K Club. This year marked his 19th year as a Kiwanian. He loved basketball, baseball and football, and would watch golf on TV for hours. In the late ’50s and early ’60s he was instrumental in starting the Little League Baseball District in Westchester, Calif. He was an avid golfer, and loved fishing in the Sierra’s in Northern California. He retired after 38 years of service with Pacific Bell. He loved to travel and socialize with friends here in Lake Havasu City and San Diego. He will be missed. He is now with his loving wife Barbara, his parents, brothers and sister.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday at the Community Presbyterian Church located at 3450 Chemehuevi Blvd., Lake Havasu City.
