Kathryn L. McAlister quietly passed away June 7. She was born on July 19, 1953 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Kathie is survived by her husband Jim, of San Diego; her mother and father, Rev. Edward and Donelda Bradley, of Maple Ridge, B.C., Canada; her sons, Michael, of San Diego, William, of Scottsdale, and daughter, Megan, also of San Diego. She was blessed with a large family and leaves sisters, Nancy, of Ontario, Canada, Colleen, Kim and Chandra; and two brothers, Keith and Kevin, all of B.C., Canada; and many caring aunts and uncles across Canada and the U.S. Kathie left friends everywhere she traveled.

As a lifelong business person, Kathie and her husband began a number of marketing ventures centered on educational learning programs, such as Hooked on Phonics and Verbal Advantage, as well as many foreign language programs offered on national radio and television to the general public through her own Corporations National Dynamics Inc., in California and Arizona, Casa Blanca Enterprises Inc. The businesses provided plenty of opportunity for world travel, and not many countries were missed.

Semi-retiring in 1996, Kathie became the owner of A-1 Mail Center Plus, and founded A-1 Auto Sales Plus. For the next 10 years in Lake Havasu City, Kathie met and made hundreds of friends and customers of whom many became her “local family.” She loved God, family and friends, and lived life for all that it had to offer.

Memorial services will be held in Maple Ridge, B.C., Canada in early August.

Kiss me goodnight Kate, I love you.

Jim
