Bernard Joseph Micklus passed away at the VA Hospital in Prescott June 28. He was born March 7, 1931, in Egypt, Pa. He was 78 years old.
Bernard was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Saint Germaine’s Catholic Church, Prescott Valley and a Veteran of the United States Marines. He loved bowling, attending church and traveling.
Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the V.A. Chapel, Prescott.
Bernard is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Mela Micklus; daughters, Hope (Steve) Paul, of Prescott Valley, Sarah (Phil) McCollum, of Chino Valley, Yolanda Hamilton, of Lake Havasu City; sons, Tony (Connie) Gonzales, of Mayer, Chauncey Gonzales, of Lake Havasu City, Billy (Leann) Verstraten, of Glen Carbon, Ill., and Greg Micklus. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas Micklus and sisters, Agnes Comollo and Irene Everhardt; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary (Cizmar) Micklus; and 10 of his brothers and sisters.
The Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
