Dive teams from five public safety agencies are searching for a boater missing and presumed drowned Saturday.

Lt. Randy Johnson of Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said the call came in at 1:49 p.m. that a 45-year-old La Habra, Calif., man had jumped off a pontoon boat into Lake Havasu near Black Meadow Landing and failed to surface.

“MCSO is being assisted by Bureau of Land Management, Lake Havasu City Fire Department, Buckskin Fire Department and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office in a dive rescue operation,” Johnson said.

Divers are searching an area about 100 yards off the shoreline.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
