When the Lake Havasu City Fire Department responded to a motor home fire report at 7:49 p.m. Sunday, they found a man with severe burns to his face and front torso lying in an alleyway outside a fifth-wheel trailer, according to a press release issued Monday by the city.

The first arriving fire company found the 43-year-old man, of Gilbert, in the alley of an industrial business park area in the 1500 block of Acoma Lane in Havasu. Paramedics treated and stabilized the burn victim before he was transported via Native Air medical helicopter to the University Medical Center in Las Vegas where he was treated for his injuries.

An additional fire crew addressed a fire inside the fifth-wheel and established a landing zone in the roadway for the medical helicopter.

Damages to the fifth-wheel were estimated at $10,000 and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
