It came to my attention that I had a fairly large problem. I found out Monday that it was time to vote in local election so I looked in the paper and found where to go to vote. The place I was to vote at was a church. So I picked the public library to vote at. In all of the places I have lived there has alway been alternatives when it come to local voting. Voting alway takes place in a school or public library or city buildings. I arrive at the library and politely ask if I can vote the man is unable to find my information so he asks for my card. I gave him my voter card and he said, "I'm at the wrong location". My responce was "yes I understand that but I will not vote in a church."  After some confussion I found out I can send in an adsentee ballet, and vote by mail. My other alternative was to stand outside the church and vote. The ladies running it were willing but perplexed. When I called the special number to the county voting authority the nice woman on the other side of the line gave me a few options after listening to my reason for not voting at a church.  So my options are vote adhead by mail ( which it was way to late or I would have done) or really early at the Aquatic Center. Somewhere along the lines religion and politics has gotten mixed up. My delema comes from setting a good example. That to my cildren it is important to vote and support local and Federal government and express your views by voting. I also teach my children to respect religions of all kinds even those that are not ours. A place of worship should not be used as a public area for voting. Is not the Church, the rectory and other building all used for the purpose of worship and the teaching of ones religion. Havasu is big enough to provide in the schools and city building enough places for every district to vote. Ther is a seperation between religon and government for a reason.
