Sept. 22, 1930 — Dec. 8, 2009

Donald O. Blain, 79, passed away Dec. 8, in Lake Havasu City. Don was a loving husband, father and grandpa, who will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Don was born in Addison Township, Mich., Sept. 22, 1930. He grew up in Oxford, Mich., raised his family there, and had a well-known excavation business. In 1982, he and his wife, Diane, transferred from Michigan Proving Grounds to Arizona Proving Grounds, working as a Ford test driver.

Don loved his family, flying his own airplane, traveling in their RV; he also loved Havasu, the lake and all his great friends. After suffering with Parkinson’s for many years, he went home to be with the Lord Dec. 8. There will be a memorial service in Michigan later in the spring of 2010.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Blain; sons, Paul Blain and Dale (Pat) Blain; daughters, Lois (David) Ahrend, and Linda (Greg) Saunders; stepson, Randy (Angie) Wall; stepdaughter, Sheila (Geoff) Hunter; 22 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Cleveland Blain, and mother, Florence (Snyder) Blain.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lake Havasu Mortuary & Crematory. Thoughts and condolences can be sent to the family at lakehavasumortuary.com
