Lake Havasu Telesis' All-Stars Merrill, Garrett fall in season finale

CHANDLER — Telesis’ Nathaniel Merrill scored 20 points and pulled down 18 rebounds but his team couldn’t turn that into victory.

Merrill’s Class B Northeast team lost 76-52 at the Charter Athletic Association High School All-Star Showcase Saturday. Merrill was joined by Tigers’ teammate Geoff Garrett on the All-Star team.

The game closes out Merrill’s prep career. The senior forward ends 2010 as the state’s leading rebounder across all levels of high school and No. 20 in the nation with a 15.9 boards-per-game average.

He’s also No. 24 in the state in scoring with an average of 20.6 points-per-game.
