Heather Bagby (8) with the Arizona Coast Orthodontics Team participates in the hit-a-thon during Opening Day for Havasu Girls Softball at Rotary Park Saturday. Opening Day consisted of a timed running contest, timed throwing contest, and hit-a-thon. There were also raffles, sponge throwing — or soak your coach — game and jumping house as a way to recognize all the players, sponsors, coaches and parents and to raise some much needed money for the league. The league has more than 400 girls, ages 5- to 18-years-old, participating and softball games started on Monday.
