Richard Donald Smith passed away Feb. 24 in Lake Havasu City at the age of 65. He was born to Louis and Margaret (McKee) Smith on May 12, 1944, in Hornell, N.Y.

Richard made Lake Havasu City his home four years ago from German, N.Y. He was owner and instructor at Hidden Valley Archery in Smithville Flats, N.Y., for many years. Richard was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a very warm and loving person, devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Richard leaves behind his beloved wife, Frances Smith, of Lake Havasu City; father, Louis F. Smith, of Bath, N.Y.; son, Dennis M. (Helene) Smith, of Smithville Flats, N.Y.; daughter, Darlene (Greg) Cempa, of Whitney Point, N.Y.; stepsons, Daniel (MaryAnn) Saliga and David (Joyce) Saliga; stepdaughters, Joannie Clark, Jeannie (Richie) Capello and Michelle (Gil) Bernier; brother, Stephen (Vasilka) Smith of Corning, N.Y.; sisters, Barbara (Dave) Hedges of Arkport, N.Y., and Debbie (John) Englert of Rochester, N.Y. and 26 grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2p.m. Saturday at First Southern Baptist Church. Pastor Bob Greene will offer words of comfort and inspiration.

Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
