Shirley Ernestine Hutchings

Shirley Ernestine Hutchings passed away Feb. 21, in Lake Havasu City at the age of 87. She was born to Ernest and Stella (Simonds) Rogers Dec. 18, 1922, in Medford, Wis.



Shirley married her best friend, Roy, June 7, 1941. She worked for the Woodland School District as a teacher in Gages Lake, Ill., for 25 years. After retirement, she joined the teacher’s organization. Shirley made Lake Havasu City her home seven years ago from Wildwood, Ill. She was good at embroidery and crocheting.  

Shirley leaves behind her beloved family, daughter, Carol Botimer and her husband Don; daughter-in-law, Pamela Hutchings, all of Lake Havasu City; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She will also be missed by her dog, Tiny, whom she loved so very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; son, Thomas and brother, Clayton Rogers.

No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.

Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
