Gary Lee Niichel, 52, of Dewey, passed away Feb. 24.

Gary owned a drywall contracting business for many years and was well respected in his industry. Gary will always be remembered for his humor, compassion and thoughtfulness. Gary would do anything for anybody — and did. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He loved the simple pleasures in life including reading, fly fishing, camping and shooting pool. Gary never met a stranger. His easygoing nature made all who met him feel like they had known him for years. His love for life engulfed everyone around him.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Lynda; daughters, Jessica (Josh), Samantha (Tanner), Charlotte and Chelsea; grandchildren, Marli and Layne; parents, Gene and Joan; brothers, Richard, Lee, and John (Kathy); sisters, Marji and Ann (Ron); sisters in law, Lizz (Mike) and Lara (Boyd); brother in law, Andy (Cindy); nieces, April, Brianna, Jourdin, Alyssa, Maddie, Tyler, Alex, Andie, Mica and Hayden; nephews, James, Ryan, Tyler, Ben, Colton, Logan and Dane.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Germaine’s Catholic Church, Prescott Valley. A celebration of Gary’s life will follow at the Jackass Bar and Grill, Prescott Valley.

An account has been opened for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at any Wells Fargo Bank, account number 1609596844. Sally and Millie – please take care of our beloved Gary.

Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
