James V. Halteman, 75, passed away Feb. 26, after a five-month battle with cancer. He was born on July 13, 1934, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Wayne Halteman and Viola (Mills) Halteman.
Jim was a member of the Lake Havasu City Historical Society, serving on its board in various positions. As a founding member of the Lake Havasu Museum of History, Jim was instrumental in starting many of the Museum’s projects, including the annual Queen’s Tea, the annual Christmas Festival of Trees, and the Museum Store, which he managed for several years.
He was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Stan Burt. Survivors include his sister, Barbara Zuvers and husband Al; his nephews, Al Zuvers III and wife Mona, and Wayne Zuvers and wife Melissa; and six great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel Saturday at 1 p.m., with a reception to follow at the home of Judy Whalen, 1926 Papago Drive.
