Ambrose A. Callahan was born to Catherine and Ambrose Callahan in Long Island, N.Y. Ambrose spent 35 years in the construction field, maintaining his lifelong membership in the New York District Carpenters Union. He was an avid sculler, teaming with his brother, Robert, in national competitions as a member of the N.Y. Athletic Club. He added ski instructing to his many talents upon moving to Aspen, Colo., in the mid 1970s where he met his best friend and wife, Betsy. They moved to San Diego for a short time, then settled in Lake Havasu City in 1989.

Ambrose was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage as well as taking care of their home and loved reading, sports and music. He was also a veteran of World War II.

Ambrose is survived and truly missed by his wife, Betsy; and their dog, Daisy; Betsy’s sons, William (Ellen) Lovick, from Ann Arbor, Mich., and Matthew (Kimberly) Lovick and grandson Quinn, from Kenya, Africa.
