A third pit bull, Boomer, dug his way under a fence to defend the woman. Bullhead Animal Control officials said the act probably saved the woman’s life.

The woman was air-evacuated to a Las Vegas hospital and listed in stable condition. Boomer suffered minor injuries.

In the same incident, 20-year-old Stephanie Penaloza, was cited and released for vicious dogs, dog at large with liability, dog at large and license required. The two attacking pit bulls are currently at a Bullhead animal shelter for a 10-day quarantine.

" Way to go Boomer! The only difference between the attacking dogs and Boomer is their owners! Ban stupidity and ignorance, not dogs! "
