JC “Jim” Riley, 85, passed away Jan. 22, in Lake Havasu City. He was born on May 26, 1925, in Chino, Calif., to George Washington Riley and Ollie Mae Fowler Riley.

Jim, as he was known to his family and friends, served his country proudly for 22 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Master Chief Petty Officer, Damage Control. He received numerous medals and decorations while serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Jim moved to Lake Havasu City 10 years ago, coming from San Diego, Calif., where he resided for over 40 years. He was a member of the London Bridge Golf Club, the Masons and the Shrine Club. Jim was an avid golfer and loved to travel. He and his loving companion, Darlene, recently returned from a six-week trip touring in his RV. They visited the southern states, including Mississippi and Tennessee. He will be deeply missed and always loved.

He is survived by his daughters, Carol DesRosiers (Ron Cramer), and Jan (Riley) Nelson; son, Ron (Rhetta) Riley; one brother, Glen Riley, of Chula Vista, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; and his loving companion, Dorlene Frost, of Lake Havasu City. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister.

A Celebration of life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, at his home. Interment will be at Fort Rosecrans Cemetery in March.
