JC "Jim" Riley

JC "Jim" Riley, 86,passed away on Jan. 22, in Lake Havasu City. He was born on May 26, 1925, in Chino, Calif. to George Washington Riley and Ollie Mae Fowler Riley.

Jim, as he was known to his family and friends, served his country proudly for 22 years in the US Navy, retiring as a Master Chief Petty Officer, Damage Control. He received numerous medals and decorations while serving in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Jim moved to Lake Havasu City 10 years ago, coming from San Diego, Calif., where he resided for over 40 years. He was a member of the London Bridge Golf Club, the Masons and the Shriner Club. Jim was an avid golfer and loved to travel. He and his loving companion, Dorlene, recently returned from a six week trip touring in his RV. They visited the southern states, including Mississippi and Tennessee. He will be deeply missed and always loved.

He is survived by his daughters Carol DesRosiers (Ron Cramer), Jan (Riley) Nelson; son Ron (Rhetta) Riley; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and his loving companion, Dorlene Frost of Lake Havasu City and his brother Glen Riley of Chula Vista, Calif. Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

A Celebration of life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Monday, January 30, at his home. Interment will be held at Fort Rosecrans Cemetery in March.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the care of Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory, www.lakehavasumortuary.com.
