Michael Quinn

Michael E. Quinn is president of River City Newspapers of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He is also publisher of the company’s publications, including the daily Today’s News-Herald, the weekly Parker Pioneer in Parker, Arizona, the Havasu Home Hunter, the River Extra shopper and Today’s News-Herald’s internet site,

Quinn has an extensive background in newspapers and publishing. Before Lake Havasu City, he held management positions with newspapers in suburban New Orleans, Louisiana, Sierra Vista, Arizona, and two newspapers in Southern California. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona.


Shannon Engles
Business Manager

Shannon Engels is the Business Manager at
River City Newspapers. She joined the company in April 2012. She oversees business and financial operations for the company. Shannon is a native in Lake Havasu City, AZ where she was born and raised. Apart from work, she is the Treasurer for the Calvary Christian Academy. She enjoys volunteering at CCA to help assist children with their education. She also enjoys traveling,
outdoors, and water recreations.

Alexis Christensen
Circulation Manager

Alexis Christensen is the circulation manager of River City Newspapers, overseeing distribution of Today’s News-Herald, the Parker Pioneer and other company products. She joined the company in October of 2006 as a circulation clerk. Alexis comes from San Diego, CA and has a background in customer service and retail sales. Away from work she likes to spends time with her family and go out on the lake.

Brandon Bowers

Brandon Bowers is editor of Today's News-Herald and the weekly Parker Pioneer. His newspaper career started at the age of 16 as a newsroom clerk at a small daily in Manteca, California, and he worked as a reporter and editor at several papers in California's Central Valley. Prior to joining the News-Herald, he served as editor of a small daily in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He lives in Lake Havasu with his wife, Amanda, their three children, and an aging cat.

Christine Hammers is the Advertising & Marketing Director for River City Newspapers of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She comes to RCN from Lake County Publishing in Northern California's Lake County where she was Advertising Director for five years. Ms. Hammers has more than thirty years of experience working for newspapers and shoppers in California, Idaho, and Kentucky. She is responsible for advertising content and marketing of RCN's publications which include the daily Today's News-Herald, the weekly Parker Pioneer in Parker, Arizona, the Havasu Home Hunter, the River Extra shopper and Today's News-Herald's internet site,, several niche products and special sections produced throughout the year.


Chris Walker
Human Resources Manager

Chris Walker began her duties as Human Resource managing at Today's News-Herald April 30, 2007. Chris comes to the paper from Phoenix and brings with her more than 25 years of H.R. and payroll experience. Most recently, she served as human resource/payroll director of the largest landscaping company in Arizona with more than $60 million in revenue and 650 employees. She was employee of the year in 2005 and executive employee of the year in 2006. Chris has a knack of being able to communicate with employees and make them comfortable in their employment with a company. Most of her experience comes from working in Southern California where she was H.R. support for a large automotive group. Chris brings with her a wealth of experience. Her addition to RCN makes it possible to move forward to the next level of employee relations. "We are fortunate to have Chris on board" said president and publisher Mike Quinn. When not at work, Chris can be found out on the lake with her dog, Cody. Her No. 1 love is the outdoors. Chris is enthusiastic about her new position with River City Newspapers and looks forward to being able to support the staff.



Cindy Taylor
Production Manager

Cindy Taylor is production manager for River City Newspapers, LLC. Cindy started with the company in 1994 as a graphic artist and also worked in advertising sales for two years. In her spare time, Cindy enjoys being assistant director for the local delegation of the Cinderella Scholarship Program, a nationwide youth development program.
