The body of a Lake Havasu City man was discovered Saturday morning at Thompson Bay.

The victim, identified as 59-year-old Edward Young, had been operating his remote-controlled boat in the area, according to a news release from the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. He had not been seen since. Deputies were called to the area of Patrick Tinnell Memorial Skate Park after personal items were found on the shoreline. Dive teams located Young shortly afterward, about 75 feet offshore, and about 10 feet underwater.

Deputies believe Young may have crashed his remote-controlled watercraft Saturday morning, and attempted to swim after it. The incident remains under investigation.
