Update: The man who drowned Saturday afternoon at Body Beach was identified Sunday as Danny Sipes, 58, of San Angelo, Texas, according to the Mohave County Sheriff's Department. The investigation into his death is continuing, they said. 

Earlier:  Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Boating Safety Officers are continuing their investigation into a drowning that occurred on Saturday (1/8). After a brief search of the waterways of Body Beach, the subject was located deceased in approximately 5 feet of water. The subject has been identified as Danny Sipes, 58 of San Angelo, TX. This investigation is ongoing.

Mohave County Sheriff's Department reported that deputies found a body in the area of Body Beach on Saturday afternoon. According to a news release from the sheriff's department, witnesses reported seeing a fully clothed man walking into the water from shore, never resurfacing. Just before 6 p.m. Saturday, deputies conducted a search by boat, and found the man's body in approximately 5 feet of water. The man's identity hasn't been released because the sheriff's department hasn't yet notified his family.
