Land scarred by fire

Although Havasu National Wildlife Refuge land is still scarred after a 27-acre fire around Mesquite Bay last week, the area reopened early Tuesday afternoon after U.S. Fish and Wildlife crews completed its rehabilitation work. The fire threatened residences at Quail Ridge (pictured in the background) but fire fighters were able to keep the blaze at bay.
