History of the Todays News Herald Today’s News-Herald and the Parker Pioneer are published by River City Newspapers, LLC, (RCN) of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. RCN is a partnership of Wick Communications, Inc. and Western News and Info., Inc. (formerly Western Newspapers, Inc.). It publishes the 7-day daily Today’s News-Herald in Lake Havasu City, the weekly Parker and a number of other direct mail and specialty publications. The company was formed Feb. 1, 1995. Initially the company ran the business operations for two competing daily newspapers. Today’s Daily News, owned by Wick, and the Daily Herald, owned by Western. They merged as Today’s News-Herald on Sept. 1, 1995. RCN was staffed by former employees of both newspapers and ran the advertising, circulation and accounting departments of the two papers. Many of those employees are still at RCN today. Today the member representatives are Francis Wick from Wick and Blake DeWitt from Western. |

Rich Macke is president of River City Newspapers of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He is also publisher of the company’s publications, including the daily Today’s News-Herald, the weekly Parker Pioneer in Parker, Arizona, and the quarterly lifestyle magazine, "Havasu: Arizona's Coastal Life." Macke has an extensive background in newspapers and publishing. Before Lake Havasu City, he held management positions with newspapers in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Southeast Texas and California's Central Coast. |

Brandon Bowers is editor of Today's News-Herald and the weekly Parker Pioneer. His newspaper career started at the age of 16 as a newsroom clerk at a small daily in Manteca, California, and he worked as a reporter and editor at several papers in California's Central Valley. He was featured as one of Editor & Publisher's 25 under 35 in 2015. Prior to joining the News-Herald, he served as editor of a small daily in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He lives in Lake Havasu with his wife, Amanda, their three children, a dog, two cats and a guinea pig. Rich Brest is Circulation Manager for River City Newspapers. He oversees all aspects of print and digital subscriptions along with retail distribution for RCN, which publishes the daily Today’s News-Herald in Lake Havasu City, the Parker Pioneer weekly newspaper in Parker, Smart Buyer, a weekly non-subscriber product, Home Hunter, a monthly real estate publication, “Havasu…Arizona’s Coastal Life” magazine, and Havasunews.com, Southern Mohave County’s top news website. |

Chris Walker began her duties as Human Resource managing at Today's News-Herald April 30, 2007. Chris comes to the paper from Phoenix and brings with her more than 25 years of H.R. and payroll experience. Most recently, she served as human resource/payroll director of the largest landscaping company in Arizona with more than $60 million in revenue and 650 employees. She was employee of the year in 2005 and executive employee of the year in 2006. Chris has a knack of being able to communicate with employees and make them comfortable in their employment with a company. Most of her experience comes from working in Southern California where she was H.R. support for a large automotive group. Chris brings with her a wealth of experience. Her addition to RCN makes it possible to move forward to the next level of employee relations. "We are fortunate to have Chris on board" said president and publisher Mike Quinn. When not at work, Chris can be found out on the lake with her dog, Cody. Her No. 1 love is the outdoors. Chris is enthusiastic about her new position with River City Newspapers and looks forward to being able to support the staff. |
