A man and woman were arrested Tuesday on multiple drug related charges after Lake Havasu City police officers served a search warrant on a residence on the 3000 block of Erwin Lane.
According to a press release from the Lake Havasu City Police Department, Jason Drew, 38, and Taylor Merrick, 24, were both arrested and charged with possession of heroin for sale, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of narcotic drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. It was not clear in the press release where Drew or Merrick live.
During the search of the residence, several grams of heroin, half an ounce of methamphetamine, multiple narcotic pills and various items of drug paraphernalia were located, according to the release.
The search warrant was issued as a result of multiple months of investigation into the sale of heroin and methamphetamine at the residence by the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team. The search warrant was executed at about 4:45 p.m. by the LHCPD SWAT Team, along with the Special Investigations Unit, Criminal Investigations Unit, and Street Crimes Unit.
The press release said Merrick was released after posting a $2,500 bond. Drew was held on a $15,000 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
