Community: Hands-on training

Havasu Regional Medical Center and Valley View Medical Center nures Tanya Hawkins, Christa Dennis, Stephanie Welton, Jennaya Elizondo, Courtney Guinn, Daphne Pulaski, Kara Keller gather around the organs. Havasu Regional Medical Center and its sister hospital, Valley View Medical Center in Fort Mohave, recently provided hands-on education to graduate nurses in the Learning Environment Advancing Practice RN Residency Program. The newly hired nurses dissected a donated bovine heart and a set of lungs to simulate the heart pumping and the lungs expanding, complementing the didactic instruction on cardiology and pulmonary.
