Lake Havasu City Police officers were called Sept. 5 after receiving reports that a Havasu resident violated two orders of protection when he allegedly visited a victim’s residence. According to police, Joshua J. Kalisz, 43, was convicted in six prior domestic violence incidents within the past seven years.
Officers surrounded the residence, and waited for Kalisz. According to the report, officers prepared to call a SWAT team to the residence, and a deployable robot was brought to the scene to get a view of the home’s interior. Kalisz allegedly locked himself in the home’s master bathroom for about an hour before surrendering to officers.
Officers ordered Kalisz to exit the residence, the report said, and Kalisz complied. He was arrested at the scene. After Kalisz was transported to Lake Havasu City Jail, police spoke with the victim.
According to alleged statements from the victim, Kalisz entered her residence and attempted to convince her to give him her phone. He allegedly asked the victim to take him to get food, as well as drugs, the report said. The victim left her residence and contacted a friend, who contacted police.
