Police say a Lake Havasu City man on Sept. 21 threatened to decapitate his roommate and bury her in the desert. Ryan L. Phillips, 39, was allegedly involved in an argument with his roommate, and wanted $6,000 to leave Havasu and move to Phoenix.
Lake Havasu City Police officers were called to the scene when Phillips, who allegedly identified himself as a member of the “Hell’s Angels” organization, shouted at the victim, and allegedly threatened to kill her. Phillips was not found at the address when officers arrived, the report said, and was believed to have left the scene before police got there. He was later found hiding in a shed on Empress Drive, according to police.
Phillips was taken into custody and transported to Lake Havasu City Jail, where a test of his breath allegedly showed a 0.078 blood-alcohol concentration. Phillips allegedly told investigators that the night of his arrest was the first time he’d drank alcohol in nine years. He denied threatening the victim, the report said, and told investigators he would never harm a woman.
Phillips was charged with misdemeanor counts of making threats and disorderly conduct.
