A Lake Havasu City man was arrested on Aug. 21, following a report that he had strangled a woman multiple times the previous night.
Michael Terrill, 44, was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic violence and aggravated assault, both felonies when officers located him the following night in a trailer on Indian Pipe Drive.
According to the police report, officers responded to a domestic violence call on Mesquite Avenue on Aug. 20. The woman reported that she had been sleeping when Terrill allegedly shook her awake asking for the rent money. When she did not immediately answer Terrill allegedly grabbed the woman’s throat and squeezed for five to seven seconds before she was able to push him away.
The woman allegedly told police that Terrill continued to yell at her as she was searching for the rent money and at one point pushed her up against the living room wall several times.
Later, while the woman was in the bathroom, Terrill allegedly demanded to be let in and again strangled the woman for six to seven seconds. She told police that she was unable to breath, and was scared for her life.
According to the police report, Terrill was not present at the residence when officers entered, but he was located in a trailer the next night where he was taken into custody.
