A California man was arrested on disorderly conduct charges after police say he attempted to instigate a brawl Saturday, involving as many as seven people at Lake Havasu State Park. According to reporting parties, a visitor to the park was launching his boat from the park’s northern launch ramp Saturday afternoon when 49-year-old Riverside resident Charles D. Tapia backed into his vehicle’s front bumper.
The driver approached Tapia, at which point Tapia allegedly exited his vehicle and attempted to attack the victim. Multiple parties allegedly attempted to restrain Tapia before the confrontation could escalate, the report said. Officers arrived, and after interviewing witnesses at the scene, Tapia was taken into custody on charges of disorderly conduct and misdemeanor assault. No injuries were reported.
