Lake Havasu City Police officers responded to McCulloch Boulevard grocery store on July 27 after receiving reports that a young woman had stolen a mobility scooter.
According to the police report, responding officers located 19-year-old Briencia P. Bradford, riding the scooter on a sidewalk a short distance away. According to Bradford’s alleged statements to officers, she intended to ride it to the end of the street, and then leave it at the intersection. The store’s manager agreed not to press charges against Bradford in the theft, wanting only that the scooter be returned.
During a search of a backpack she was carrying, officers found a water bottle containing what Bradford allegedly told them was a mixture of lemonade and whiskey. Also found in her bag were two THC vape pens, which she allegedly said belonged to a friend.
Bradford was arrested at the scene on charges of possession of liquor by a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia, and transported to Lake Havasu City Jail. A test of Bradford’s breath showed that she was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of her arrest, the report said.
