Lake Havasu City firefighters rushed to an Acoma Boulevard business Tuesday afternoon, where a fire was reported at 2:30 p.m. by multiple witnesses.
Officials initially believed the incident to be a commercial fire, according to Havasu Fire Battalion Chief Mike Quijada, but found that only an old hot tub, left outside at the property, had become engulfed. With the arrival of more than three fire engines and a ladder truck, the fire was subdued in less than ten minutes.
“It was a one-engine incident, but multiple trucks arrived,” Quijada said.
According to Quijada, the hot tub’s owners were planning to move and dismantle it before the fire. While the reason for the fire was unknown as of Tuesday afternoon, Quijada says nothing of value was damaged in the incident.
