A sharp turn onto Lake Havasu Avenue led to the arrest of a Lake Havasu City man on felony drug charges.
Jason C. Scantlin, 42, is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 10 on charges of possession of narcotic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and three counts of felony probation violation after his arrest last month.
According to police, officers were on patrol in the area of Lake Havasu Avenue on July 19 when a vehicle entered the road from a private driveway. The turn was so sudden that officers had to brake to avoid a collision, the report said.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and found one of its passengers, identified as Jason C. Scantlin, 42, to have three felony warrants for his arrest issued by Mohave Superior Court. Scantlin was asked to exit the vehicle and detained at the scene.
According to police, a search of Scantlin’s pockets revealed a syringe containing suspected heroin, a spoon, a cotton swab and a glass pipe containing suspected methamphetamine. Scantlin was arrested at the scene and transported to Lake Havasu City Jail without incident.
Scantlin was arraigned July 31.
