Two men killed in a head-on collision on State Route 95 south of Parker Wednesday morning were identified Thursday as two Lake Havasu City residents.

Thomas Edward McFadden, 74, and Laurence F. Paugh, 70, died in the accident after their Ford pick-up truck collided with a Dodge pick-up truck approximately five miles south of Parker.

Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesperson Bart Graves said the accident occurred at 4:38 a.m. McFadden and Paugh were traveling south with McFadden driving.

A Dodge pick-up traveling northbound crossed the center line and collided with the Ford being driven by McFadden.

McFadden and Paugh were declared dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge pick-up truck was transported to La Paz Regional Hospital.

The accident occurred at Milepost 137. It was about midway between Parker and the turnoff to Bouse and Quartzsite.

A post on the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page said the highway was closed in both directions for about four hours.

Graves said the accident remains under investigation.
