The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office sent search and rescue personnel to the area of Chloride, where two men were reported prospecting at Cherum Peak. According to the Sheriff’s report, one of the men collapsed before his friend reported the incident to emergency dispatchers.
A search and rescue helicopter was sent to find the men, according to the report, but rescue crews were too late. The victim, 74, was declared deceased at the scene, and later transported to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office.
