Military veterans in Lake Havasu City will be honored Monday at the annual Veteran’s Day Parade through the downtown area. A ceremony immediately follows the 10 a.m. parade at Wheeler Park. The park is adjacent to Kmart Plaza.

Organizer Joan McDermott from the VFW said the parade will begin at Birch Square. She estimated that the Wheeler Park event will start at 11 a.m.

Mayor Cal Sheehy and Rep. Sonny Borrelli are the keynote speakers.

“We have about 40 entries for the parade, an honor guard and four motorcycle groups,” McDermott said. The parade will begin at Birch Square.

The annual event always draws a significant crowd of residents who want to show their gratitude to veterans and active duty military members.

“All of us at the VFW are honored to be able to thank our veterans for their service. For us, the parade is good way to observe Veterans Day,” she said.
