A wanted Lake Havasu City woman was arrested when she was allegedly recognized by an off-duty police officer. Avian L. Scarbrough, 30, was wanted July 23 on charges of failure to appear in court when she was spotted by the officer, police said. The officer used her cell phone to contact police, who responded to the scene about 15 minutes later.

Scarbrough was found at the location and taken into custody. A search of Scarbrough’s purse allegedly yielded items of drug paraphernalia containing residue of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana. She was transported to Lake Havasu City Jail on felony charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as failure to appear in court.
