Lake Havasu Sea Scouts became the cover article of August Boy’s Life Magazine.

The article featured the “little ship in the desert” scuba diving in the Channel Islands. Ryan Robinson, 17, of Lake Havasu City, was featured on the cover.

The Havasu-based group, SSS Heatwave - Ship 450, trains scouts to scuba dive, to have many underwater adventures and encourage youth to care about our water environment.

Sea Scouts use their scuba skills to help learn about the underwater environment with underwater clean ups, invasive species education and to gain respect for our water system. Sea Scouts BSA is a program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women ages 14 to 20.
