The Coves at Sailing Hawks

City Council gave the go-ahead Tuesday night for the The Coves at Sailing Hawks development.

Plans for The Coves at Sailing Hawks, a housing development on London Bridge Road, required major changes for the final plan to be approved by the City Council on Tuesday evening. The development will sit off on the corner of Sailing Hawks Drive and London Bridge Road.

Originally, the plans for the residential development included 63 sites, but after complaints and concerns from residents currently living in the area about losing their lake view and issues with varying elevations on the lot, the project’s sites were slashed in half. The final plan now calls for 22 single-family building sites.

The Coves will have one access point on Sailing Hawks Drive, and promises “unmatched dramatic lake views,” according to the Desert Land Group website.

More jobs just created for Havasu residents. Building materials sold. Extra tax revenue for the city. Nothing but win-win.

How many lunches with the City Council and the developer did it take to arrive at this number of reduced sites and how many building codes were waived just as restrictions to height requirements were set aside when construction began years ago?

The developer is a member of t he planning commission! What should we expect!
