Most local residents know that the tourism business is what keeps Lake Havasu City’s economic motor running.

What they may not know is that the constant influx of visitors is not merely a spontaneous phenomenon. A great deal of effort goes into making sure Lake Havasu continues to be a hot spot for adventurers and tourists.

Learn more about what’s on the horizon for expanding the city’s tourism industry when “Go Lake Havasu Updates” is presented Sept. 18 at ASU Havasu.

Terence Concannon is president and CEO of Go Lake Havasu, the city’s tourism headquarters. He will present the free lecture at ASU Havasu, Santiago 109, at 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served 4:45-5 p.m. before the event.

Concannon will explain that Havasu welcomes hundreds of thousands of tourists every year and how Go Lake Havasu’s efforts help increase those numbers. He will share successes and challenges in elevating the city as a tourist destination in the 21st century, discuss the new upgrades to the Visitor’s Center, the Autism Travel Initiative and Go Lake Havasu’s plans for the future.
