San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a Needles location Sept. 20 after receiving a 911 call requesting medical aid for three stabbing victims, including a 1-year-old child.

The victims were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, and deputies detained 60-year-old Needles resident Jerry Lucero in the course of their investigation. Lucero was ultimately arrested on charges of attempted murder. As of Tuesday, Lucero remained in custody at West Valley Detention Center, in Rancho Cucamonga, on $1 million bond.

The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office at 760-326-9200. Callers can also offer tips anonymously at 1-800-782-7463.
