Editor: President Donald Trump tweeted in March that he reversed his administration’s decision to slap new sanctions on North Korea with his press secretary explaining that he “likes” leader Kim Jong Un and doesn’t think they’re necessary. Imagine President Barack Obama, when he was in office, stating that he “likes” leader Kim Jong Un and doesn’t think new sanctions on North Korea were necessary. The Republicans would have been screaming.
Kim Jong Un is a murderous dictator comparable to Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao Zedong. He has tortured, starved and killed thousands of his people, including his uncle and half brother, yet President Trump “likes” him. But President Trump “dislikes” the late Senator John McCain, a Vietnam war hero, a man who devoted his life in the service of his country, in the US Navy and as a senator. I am sure some of you will make excuses for President Trump. You have become experts in making excuses for him. Even though you did not do very well with Trump’s love affair with Vladimir Putin. The excuse concerning the “likable” Kim Jong Un will probably be that President Trump has a plan and it’s part of his deal-making strategy to get him what he wants without using the new sanctions. Some day your excuses to fool the American people will no longer work. That day is coming soon and the mess this president has made will be corrected.
