Kelli Ward

We’ve long said Northwest Arizona needs a bigger voice in state and national politics, and for a while, it looked like Kelli Ward might finally fill that role. However, after two near misses in her bid for a U.S. Senate seat, Ward has turned her attention to another role, one that’s less prominent but perhaps even more important when it comes to having a political influence.

Ward is seeking to become the next chairwoman of the Arizona Republican Party next month. If elected by GOP committee members, she’ll take the reigns of a party that’s in need of real leadership. We think she’s more than capable. Ward has shown she can play politics at the higher levels, but she’s a product of rural Arizona, too — which more qualifies her as someone who can bring together Republicans from across the state.

The Arizona Republican Party just got through a particularly divisive election — the Senate race in particular —and it needs someone who can help reform the party’s big tent so it appeals to as many conservative voters as possible, not just the party faithful. Arizona, after all, turned a little more purple in the midterms and is said to be an important state in the upcoming 2020 presidential elections.

The state GOP needs a uniter, and Ward is a good fit — perhaps more so for the chairmanship jobs than the U.S. Senate. She showed us she has the chops for strategy, networking and fundraising, and the party certainly needs a better strategy if it hopes to hang on to (and gain back) congressional seats over the next few elections.

Ward says she envisions the Republican Party ensuring that every legal vote is counted and to prevent illegal votes from being cast in the first place. She says she wants to make sure the independent redistricting commission offers a fair process to all involved.

That’s a good start, and who better for the job than someone who understands from personal experience how redistricting and ballot games can affect an election’s final outcome?

We hope Kelli Ward is selected for the chairmanship job when GOP committee members make their selections at their biannual meeting.

It’s clear from her Senate campaigns that Ward inspires passion on the part of her supporters. She should be allowed to play that role on a larger stage.

Like the facts that the republicans stole money that were approved by the tax payers for schools, then replaced them from a fund dedicated to funding the schools. Or the fact that the republicans just passed a tax to fund the state please and is not calling it a tax. Or maybe that they stole money dedicated to street repair and maintenance called the HURF fund to pay for the the State Patrol when their tax cuts to corporations left them significantly short on revenue. Are those the facts you are looking for? Or more like Trump is asking us to pay for a $30 billion wall that he promised Mexico would pay for? Lots of facts out there you can choose from to show the complete lack of accounting by the Republican Party for there poor policies. Just watch what the deficit is doing.

Well rolson, no one, other than faux noise, will give the trump cultists much credit in the way of grey matter and the ability to think critically. I suppose you didn't know that IQ is a *disqualifier* for "RIDIN THE TRUMP TRAIN!!! WOOT WOOT!!!" The less going on below those MAGA hats the better as far as cheetos jesus is concerned!

Of course Chemtrails Kelli is a perfect fit! She's as goofy as the rest of the Republicans and they desperately deserve her.

You have a big mouth but no reality or facts! Just another leftist blowhard!!

What can I say? I am proudly a “leftist” – whatever that means and I am most assuredly a “blowhard” because I find alerting people to the facts an important thing to do as I wind up my seventh decade of life. As to facts – let’s consider Chemtrails Kelli and just a few of her stupid stunts over the years, 1) She spent taxpayer dollars to travel to Nevada to defend a lying, thieving, bigot who had been stealing from the American taxpayers for years, along with threatening the lives of federal officers; 2) She felt it was more important for felons to have access to weapons than the right to vote: 3) She pushed legislation that would have legalized nun-chuks, silencers and sawed-off shotguns; and best of all 4) She wasted thousands of taxpayer dollars holding a town hall in Kingman where she brought forward members of ADEQ to “do something” about the chemtrails that were “poisoning” all of the people of Golden Valley. Incidentally Chemtrails Kelli did not comprehend that ADEQ has no say in the over-flights of aircraft above Arizona and once pinned down, she threw that entire bunch of idiots under the bus. And the best of all, when she ran against McCain the “dark money” groups refused to support her because, in their words, “She’s crazy.” Your turn.
